Karen Dear is our class co-coordinator and a Melody Bear Teacher.  Her role at the Melody Bear HQ is also one of advisor to Melody Movement Early Learning teachers across the UK and overseas and assisting trainee teachers on the MMEL Associate and Teacher Training programmes.

Jill Bridger started the school in 1988 in Cambridge and has seen it grow from 30 children at the Cambridge Drama Centre to over 650 students.


Jill is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance and National Association of Teachers of Dance.


Her creation, Melody Bear, is now taught and enjoyed by 450 teachers across the UK and oversea.  Visit www.melodymovement.com for further details.

Helen Ellis joined our team in 2011 and is a trained Melody Movement teacher. Her popular Saturday Melody Bear classes run on Saturday mornings in Cambridge  with lots of lovely props and story telling.

Jo Turner joined our offices in May 2010 and her assistance with both our Melody Movement Early Learning projects and busy school events has been invaluable. Jo also coordinates our chaperones and parent volunteers at our school shows.

Holli Grice is a former students of the school who returned to teach for us in 2017.  Holli has many skills to share having trained as an Acting Coach and fitness instructor as well as gaining a BTEC Diploma is Musical Theatre.  She teaches our Saturday RAD grade classes at the Melody Bear HQ.

Bernadette Lemon is heading back to her roots!  Bernadette was a student at Jill Bridger school of dance from the early age of 3 right up to 16 when she moved onto vocational training at Masters Performing Arts College.  In addition to teaching our Melody Bear classes, Bernadette teaches our RAD grades, Ballet Extra and Vocational Focus Sessions. She also choreographsthe school’s TEAM JB routines.

Emma Louise Campbell has a wealth of experience to share having gained at BA (hons) Dance and Professional Practice and a Postgraduate Masters in Dance Making and Performance.  In addition to teaching Melody Bear and our RAD ballet classes, Emma Louise teaches our Combo and modern & tap classes.

Meaghan Gates first came to the school with her two boys joining in our Melody Bear classes.  She loved the classes so much that she joined our teacher training programme and now teaches classes at the Melody Bear HQ and in Cambourne. Meaghan is also a whiz at sorting out all the props for the teachers!

Grace Atyes will be a familiar face to many of you as she is an ex-student at our school.  Grace is currently completing her ISTD teacher training and our Melody Bear teacher at the Cambourne Church Annexe.  This term Grace is also teaching new Combo classes on Mondays in Cambourne and our new classes in Hauxton and St Ives.

Emily Pullen is brings the magic of Melody Bear to our Saturday morning classes at the Melody Bear HQ.  She’s first in the HQ to shake Melody Bear awake for a morning of fun dancing!

Cheryl Radford is our school administrator who joined our team in 2014.  Cheryl is students’ parents point of contact at our busy Melody Bear offices and she can be contacted directly by phone or email cheryl@danceschool.biz

Glenn Nairn is the Melody Bear HQ accounts and staff administrator and Jill’s assistant.  Glenn has been with the team for many years and her knowledge of the office workings keep all the ‘cogs’ moving.
